During September 2025, Exercise Cobra Warrior 25-2 took place throughout the United Kingdom, which included multiple daily flying from UK and International participants. I joined the Royal Canadian Air Force’s frontline fast jet squadron’s during a mission over the North Sea. 4x CF-18 Hornet’s from both 425 and 433 Squadron’s launched rom RAF Waddington to work with USAF F-15’s and later meet a 435 Squadron Lockheed CC-130H(T) aerial refueling tanker where they took on extra fuel, at 16,000ft. The four Hornet’s calling ‘SCAR’ Flight’ later continued their mission to the low level area’s of the United Kingdom, including LFA7 ‘The Mach Loop’ and LFA17.

Operational low flying is an essential part of a fast jet pilot’s routine training. The great Canadian aviators of 425 & 433 Squadron’s made full use of the UK’s low fly system and were able to be seen flying between 500 and 1000ft in England, Scotland and Wales. Below ‘SCAR’ can be seen in The Mach Loop, Wales:
